What are the hours of the school day?

School begins at 7:50am and ends at 2:45pm for all grades.

Do we have to be Catholic to enroll our child in St. Bernardine of Siena School?

Non-Catholic students are accepted into St. Bernardine of Siena School. They must participate in all religion classes and spiritual activities at the school. Catholic families and active parishioners at St. Bernardine of Siena Parish receive priority in acceptance into the school.

Do we have to be parish members?

St. Bernardine of Siena School is first and foremost a part of the parish life at St. Bernardine Parish. It is key to the educational mission of the parish in forming strong Catholic leaders for the future. In line with this focus, registered, active parish members are given priority in admissions to the school.

Does the school offer day-care?

The school has a day-care program operates daily beginning immediately after school until 6pm. There are additional fees for this program.

When can we apply?

The school starts accepting applications on February 1st of each school year.

Can we tour the school?

Tours of the school can be scheduled at any time. There is an open house on the last Sunday of January. Shadow days can be scheduled for students who are applying for grades 5-8.

Is there support for students who need extra help?

Even though the class sizes are large at St. Bernardine’s, the school has an outstanding track record of high student performance. Teacher aides provide support in grades K-5 and our Inclusion Program facilitates instructional strategies that support learning for all students. We also provide an X period for junior high students to meet with teachers to seek extra support.

Are there programs for advanced students?

Since we strive to meet the needs of each student, we provide challenges and opportunities in the regular curriculum for students who are advanced.
